Freewill Baptist Church (first) holds its first services.
1850
It meets in a former Methodist Episcopal chapel on North Bennet Street. The congregation was established in 1835 by Rev. J.W. Holman and met first in a house on Causeway Street, then in Marlboro Chapel and Boylston Hall. Eli Noyes is the first minister. The congregation moves to a new church (second) in Roxbury in 1897.*
